Living right outside of Washington, DC, I work with many busy professionals—lawyers, realtors, federal employees… you get the idea. I love helping them look and feel their best, but I also know that between long commutes, family responsibilities, and packed schedules, makeup often takes a backseat. As a business owner, wife, and mom of two, I completely understand! That’s why I’ve put together this simple 15-minute makeup routine—perfect for professionals who need to look polished on Zoom, FaceTime, or Teams without spending extra time in front of the mirror.
1. Prep Your Skin (2 Minutes)
Skin prep varies depending on your skin type, so it’s tricky to give one-size-fits-all advice. However, a few key steps can make a big difference. In the evening, regular exfoliation with a gentle exfoliant helps keep your skin smooth—I love this one. In the morning, I always recommend incorporating Snail Mucin, which works beautifully for both dry and oily skin. Follow that with a vitamin C serum for brightness and a lightweight moisturizer for hydration. When my clients prep their skin well, they often don’t need a primer—unless they have large pores, in which case I recommend this product. The final, yet crucial, step in your skin prep routine is applying SPF. A properly prepped base ensures your makeup stays fresh through back-to-back meetings.

2. Even Out Your Skin Tone (3 Minutes)
Ditch the heavy foundation and go for a tinted moisturizer or a light coverage foundation for a fresh, natural look. Instead of using a full-coverage concealer, try using an under-eye brightener for a more lightweight, radiant finish.
3. Define Your Brows (2 Minutes)
Brows frame your making them essential for video calls. A tinted brow gel or pencil will quickly fill in sparse areas and create a polished look.
4. Brighten Your Eyes (3 Minutes)
Tired eyes? A neutral eyeshadow stick (no brushes needed—you can blend with your fingertips) and a thin line of eyeliner along your waterline can add subtle definition. Additionally, you’ll want to curl your lashes and add some mascara to make your eyes pop and help you look more awake.
5. Add a Healthy Flush (2 Minutes)
Next, add a touch of cream blush on your cheeks and a bit of a stain on your lips. This gives you a natural, professional glow. Stick to soft, neutral tones for a polished finish.
6. Control Shine & Set Your Look (3 Minutes)
Lastly, apply a light dusting of translucent powder on your T-zone to prevent unwanted shine and spritz with a setting spray.
